This title is the first of the new Leitkolumne old editor of the World Week Roger Köppel. Leave what? That was exactly the thrust of a speech by Christoph Blocher at the presentation of local journalism awards last December (see the article in the "Tages Anzeiger" of 3:12:05, entitled "Leave journalists must know what is!" And the front page of the "Berner newspaper the same day). A pure coincidence? Hardly, even if none of them invented the phrase, as two soul mates have taken.
trying Koeppel's column also (not the first time) a historical comparison of the current week with world time World-week-founder Karl von Schumacher, in whose tradition can finally stand. That this comparison with the time of the Second World War, more than lags because we are threatened that is not an invasion by Hitler's Germany (remember 1940) yet another great power, is actually obvious. That compares with the other hand, Köppel like Karl von Schumacher as his and Spezi Blocher Gelegenheitssouffleur pleased with Winston Churchill in a line, a further amusing parallels revealed between the two polemicists.
In contrast to the (ex-) entrepreneurs should Blocher, the trained historian Köppel actually know that rarely simply "is" that which is. Reality is always about perception designed and controlled via voice, defined and interpreted. Not infrequently decide what not politicians, historians, scholars, journalists, writers and chroniclers of what "is" and. Or as Jean-Martin Büttner Köppel colleague (in the "Tages Anzeiger" of 8:12:05) his reply to Blocher's speech has aptly subtitled: "Reality is a function of power"! Only totalitarian regimes take lay claim to know the only true reality. (In her case may be true even as they define it too, and eliminate any critical voice).
As Blocher always knows what it is and was so white and the World Week as only one, as it is and sees itself as Winkelried in the fight against media pabulum. For example, if conspiracy scenarios to a federal prosecutor and creates this very wegputscht after Gusto Minister of Justice. If the call to "write what" but actually meant is that the World Week will hold more of well-researched facts and less then polemical and onesided colored thesis journalism (in the style of Urs P. Engeler), glad I I corresponding to a quality boost. I would but the new entrepreneurs Köppel strongly recommended to keep the supposedly vaunted independence and not to be exploited as a battle Journal of the SVP and some wealthy districts. So that the first Leitkolumne hot after the era has not Köppel "Wess' bread he ate ,..."!
