positive signal for Austria
In this country there is a similar quota system for medical students. 75 percent of places are reserved for students with an Austrian school leaving certificate, only 20 percent of EU citizens, and five percent for non-EU citizens. "Austria can not afford to receive free medical training for other countries and make it their own medical care on the road," said Mag BZÖ and Sciences spokesman Rainer Widmann.
A rate actually contradicts the equal treatment of all EU citizens. Due to the huge rush of numerus clausus refugees from Germany, the Austrian Universities granted a postponement and not brought an infringement procedure.
SPÖ and Sciences spokeswoman Andrea Kuntzl pleased with the result, the Court ruling, but stressed: "However, we need a solution for other disciplines that are heavily burdened by the German numerus clausus refugees!"
